University Sports science graduate Lou started his career as a strength and conditioning coach at the Newcastle United FC Academy, where he noticed a void in both the practical application and education around sports nutrition for young athletes. Despite playing a fundamental part in elite player performance development, in most cases nutrition was an afterthought and lacked funding.
Parents struggle to find time to prepare, cook and transport wholesome meals and in most cases lack education around the right foods to feed their young athletes. They also battle against the selective eating habits of their active teens which means in most cases means they’ll chose convenience foods or skipping meals. To provide a solution, Lou established Youth Sport Nutrition to develop a bespoke food powder range to cater for the unique and heightened nutritional needs of young athletes and also provide education to parents and sports teams across the world.
